Vignette Late Fee
Driving without a valid vignette on a section of motorway where vignettes are compulsory qualifies as unauthorised motorway use. If the motorway vignette has been issued for a lower toll category than required for the motor vehicle (long vehicle) being checked, the vignette is not valid. A vignette that is not punched in the regular manner, that is not punched clearly or not punched at all, is not valid. The vignette that is not stuck on the windscreen by its self-adhesive surface specially manufactured for this purpose is not valid.
The authorised use of a vignette is certified by the counterfoil or the sales slip certifying the purchase; so they are valid only together with the vignette, provided that they indicate the registration number of the vehicle. For the owners of yearly vignettes it is also advisable to retain the counterfoil in case the use of vignettes is extended during the year to include all the motorways.
